Testing a new kind of sales material

Today I picked up the sales cards at the printers house.. (the “play cards” I wrote about in an earlier post here on the blog): http://thebaand.wordpress.com/2012/01/31/working-late/
I think the result has become really nice.. Now it is just exciting to know if they will also work in practice..
The perfect summer knit..

4 days to go and these fantastic beauties will arrive from Peru.. Not only in black but also in 2 other colors.. (off-white and brown melange) They are from our new summer´12 collection and is manuel machine knitted in 100% silky soft pima cotton. Mmmm I look SO much forward to wear them. I am sure they can be styled both casual for everyday use and be dressed up for going out for drinks in the evening
Out and about..

In December, my friend, Sidsel, decided to go to Vietnam, where she is now traveling around for 6 month.. Doing her trip she takes the most fantastic pictures of different landscapes and places where she visits, which she is so kind to share on her Facebook page.
What I think is very funny when looking at her pictures, is that she is often wearing something from “The Baand” – that is SOO nice to see!
From my own experience I can only agree with Sidsel – “The Baand” works really well when traveling – it is very light weight (which is good because then you can bring more) and it works especially good for warm weather because the quality of the fabric is thin and easy to breathe in.
To you Sidsel: Thanks for the great photos – I enjoy! And thank you for taking “Loopy”, “Stiffy”, “Drummer boy” and “Johnny – the bass player” with you on your trip around Vietnam – I am sure they enjoy the adventure just as much as you do!
working late..

working working working on the new and more expanded sales material for the AW´12 collection.. Not only have we made the normal lookbook this season, but we are also testing a new and much more specific way of showing all our styles in the coming AW´12 collection.. a kind of “play with cards” you can say..
The first ones who gets to test it, is our Danish agent, Asui agency.., and if all works well, we will pass it on to our German, Dutch and Japanese agents as well.. Very exciting!!
A little inspiration..

Yesterday I discovered this new smart website which is called “Fashiolista“. Here you can select and collect photos of all your favorite styles, which is to be found on all different web shops around the world. It gives an amizing overview of all the newest designs and as well a good knowlegde of many different web shops, who carries the brands and styles that you like.
Above is shown a little collection of the items that I selected from viewing this site – I tell you, it can be addictive to look at this site, because there are SOO many nice things that you suddenly fell a need to possess.

Anyway I think I have found some good things, that I wish will end up in my closet in near future
BUT the best thing about it all, is that these things, which I have chosen from Fashiolista will match our new SS´12 The Baand styles (shown above) just perfectly! At least I think so
I can easily see myself wearing the black leather pants from Balmain together with the USA Converse sneakers, the white US tank top with twisted back from The Baand under the blue denim shirt which should be unbuttoned.
Or the red jeans from Helmut Lang with one of our white printed tops from The Baand, mixed with the lovely leather jacket from Acne and the USA sneakers from Converse.
Mmm can´t wait untill our SS´12 styles comeshome!! I know they are just around the corner.. So watch out for them – I promise, you will feel the spring has arrived when they hit the stores, because the colors and prints are just AMAZING!
take care
Postcards has arrived..

Woohuuu the AW´12 postcards has arrived!! And they are looking COOL!! Now we are almost ready for the fashion fairs
Preparing for the fashion fairs

Today Stine and I went shopping at the Danish “DIY” market, Silvan, together with our new visual merchandiser, Tess Lauritsen. We decided that our brand was in need of a new and more cool look when we are represented on the different fashion fairs around Europe, and from that came the idea of making our own rack using only water pipes. The result is a very rough and cool rack (at least that is what we think) and the great thing about it is that the rack is to disassemble and pack into the suit case, so we can bring them to Berlin and Amsterdam, when we leave for the fair on Tuesday next week.
Julie Zangenberg for The Baand

A couple of month ago we had the pleasure to work with the talented and sweet Danish actress Julie Zangenberg. Julie likes our brand and said yes to be photographed in some of our clothes.. We like ALOT!! We also asked her some questions about shopping and clothing in general and this turned into a little interview, which you can read here in the Danish Fashion magazine Elle:
or here at the Danish Fashion magazine Femina:

BTW: The talented photographer who took the photos of Julie Zangenberg is from Italy and is called Erica Fava. Check out her website here: http://www.ericafava.it/
Behind the scenes..

Yesterday we did the photoshoot of our AW´12 collection.
Despite of only having very few styles to work with, I think the result became VERY nice. Our makeup artist, Diana Wilms and photographer, Soren B Meisterbrau, both did a splendid job as always and our beautiful and talented new model, Veronica Pontoppidan, was not only great but even had a tattoo on her arm, which we loved and only emphasized the coolness in our clothes
Now we are only waiting to receive the final and edited photos from our photographer – always sooo exciting!!
Speaking at KEA

The other day, Stine and I gave a lecture on the Danish Design School KEA, and it went really well. We talked about our company in general, about many of the challenges that we meet on our way as a smaller company, and we talked about our partner ship with the Dutch organisation Made-by, who helps us in our work with sustainability and in making our supply chain transparent.
