Testing print colors for the Berlin event

Yesterday Stine and I dropped off some more t-shirts at our new print collaborator´s house, “Meister und Madchen” here in Copenhagen. These t-shirts has to be pre-printed for our Element-5 event in Berlin, where we are attending next week.

Among the selected graphics that will be printed are 2 of our favorites from Matthew Langille: The famous “Tourposter” print, with the 4 funny characters playing for “The Baand”, and the “Stiffy” print, showing the goofy band member Stiffy with the long nose and big teeth. And “Meister und Madchen´s” own graphic design, which they have designed especially for us.

“Meister und Madchen” are joining us in Berlin, because not only do they make graphic designs, they have also specializes in hand-printing on clothing, and for our event in Berlin, they will be hand-printing live on t-shirts and tops in great new colors, not yet seen from “The Baand”.

These hand-printed t-shirts is going to work as exciting “special edition” give-aways for our invited guests and costumers at the event. And as a special happening, we have invited, Matthew Langille, to the event, so he can sign those t-shirts which has his prints.

Can´t wait to see everybody at the event walking around in “The Baand” Tees with cool and colorful hand-printed graphics :) Only 6 days to go before it starts!!

Bringing Loopy, Stiffy, Boy and Johhny alive in music video

identitet.

I apologize to all our English speaking readers, that I have not written this post in English as well. However I can promise you that I will translate this text very soon, and post it again in English. Stay tuned :)

The Baand introducing a men´s t-shirt

From the beginning back in 2009, “The baand” have been focusing only on womenswear.

But this is about to change! Pretty soon all the men out there can wear a super soft and cool organic T-shirt from “The Baand” as well!

For many seasons we have been asked to do a mens T-shirt. The quality and the softness of a T-shirt from “The Baand” t-shirt is no where
else to be found.

We will launch a mens T-shirt style live on our 2 days rooftop event in Berlin on May 31th – June 1st. Here we will also give our invited
guests a chance to meet our famous graphic artist, Matthew Langille – who is flying in from New York exclusively to sign a limited numbers
of both men and women’s t-shirts.

The photos above shows our first fitting of the new mens  T-shirt.

Yesterday´s outfit

Yesterday´s outfit was very relaxed. I was wearing one of my favorite “The Baand” t-shirts in the color: Wet sand, together with a pair of black jeans from “J-Brand”, my “Isabel Marant” cardigan and leather jacket from “Munderingskompagniet”. To spice it all up a little, I was wearing a nail polish in pink from “Uslu Airlines” and jewelry from “Raa smykker”.
Take care and have a great day!

23.03.12 Today´s outfit

Stine was looking super cool today wearing her grey The Baand fringe scarf from previous season, mixed with a yellow t-shirt with print and the fine knitted sweater also from The Baand (both from our actual summer´12 collection) Her grey jeans are from “Acne”, shoes from “See By Chloe”, and the army green jacket is from “Boss Orange”.

This really cool ring is made by our very dear friend, Joanna, who has made it especially for “The Baand”.  Joanna is trained as a jeweler and has therefore handmade all her designs herself using only the highest quality of silver. Check out her website and see more of her styles: www.raasmykker.dk

“Loopy doing the robot” at Oesterbro / Copenhagen

Today on my way home from the city I passed the nice shop “Berg” at Oesterbrogade and here I saw our new yellow t-shirt with print “Loopy doing the robot” in the window :) And what a cool combination “Berg” shows our t-shirt in. We like ALOT!!

BTW: Did you know that the print “Loopy doing the robot” was a gift from our graphic designer, Matthew Langille, to Stine as a wedding gift!! Cool right!!

Chick with attitude

Stine and I are in the process of designing our new coming SS13 collection and therefor we are out looking for inspiration all different places these days.. Especially cool chicks with a lot of attitude and rock n roll in their blod vanes are of big inspiration to us and that is why we instantly fell in love with this cool picture which we think says it all!

Btw: Did you know that all the names to each of our styles in every collection, is found on the internet when looking up on Google: “Most famous female rock singers”..!! ?

Pretty cool right?

Visit from our factory in Peru

Today Stine and I had the pleasure of welcoming one of the agents from our factory in Peru, Milagros Flores. She is here visiting Denmark for a few days, in connection with a special event which is happening tomorrow , Wednesday March the 14th, at “Dansk Design Center”, where Peruvian producers and agents has gathered together for the purpose to meet with Danish design companies, who are considering to start up with production in Peru.

Milagros wanted to see a shop where our clothes is sold in Copenhagen and we took her to one of the finest shops in the centre of Copenhagen, “Suite”, which is situated in the big and exclusively department store “Illum”. As we presented our collection to her, it happened that our actual live model from the SS´12 Image photos, Florina Weisz, passed by, and of course we had to take a picture with her too :) Note: Florina is also posing on the front side of the “The Baand” brochure, which Milagros is holding in her hands.

Peru memories

This evening I was looking through a bunch of old pictures when I found these 2. I went all nostalgic, as I saw them, because they are taken from the first visit to Peru, which Stine and I did back in 2009.

On the picture I am actually wearing one of the first The baand T-shirts, that saw the day of light. I remember it was an amazing feeling to wear this piece of clothes.

First of all because we had done the style our self, but second and more important, because the quality was something I had never felt before – the organic pima cotton that they have in Peru is just SOO much softer and nicer than I had ever tried before!

For that reason it was NOT difficult for Stine and I, to decide to have our production of Fashion Basic´s produced in Peru. We wanted to let everyone know about this amazing quality, and be happy about it as much as we are.

It is funny to think back that so much has happened since then and so many collections has been created and sold to all over the world. I guess people has taken the peruvian quality into their hearts after all :)
